FAQ

Most often asked questions

  1. How long does it take to paint each face?

The size and detail of the design and how still or wiggly the person sits will determine how long it takes to paint. In general, painting a "full face" takes from 5 to 8 minutes, "eye masks, crowns, and medium detailed faces" can take from 2 to 5 minutes, while some "cheek art and simple designs" can be painted in 1 to 3 minutes.

  2. How many faces can you paint in an hour?

Again, the answer to this depends on the complexity of the design and how if the person being painted sits still. In general, with a mix of simple, medium, and complex designs an average of 12 to 20 faces can be painted per hour. If the hour has many complex designs, then the number painted may be less and if there are mostly medium to simple designs then the number painted may be more.

  3. What if I have a large event and there are many faces to be painted?

Fantasy Artz can arrange for more than one artist or helper to come to your event.

  4. What if not as many guests show up as expected?

Fantasy Artz has alotted time specifically for your event. Refunds or reduced rates will not be given regardless of how many faces get painted.

  5. Can you stay longer to paint more faces?

I will do my best to paint as many wonderful faces as I can in our scheduled time, but if there are a number of guests still waiting to be painted when the time is up, or you have more guests than you expected, you may wish to have me stay and paint longer. If I don't have another event immediately following yours then I may be able to accomodate you for an additional charge.

  6. What type of paint do you use?

All my paint is professional face and body paint. It is specifically formulated to be gentle enough to be used on children's skin. It is water based, non-toxic, and FDA compliant. PLEASE never let anyone paint on you or your child's skin with any other type of paint, (such as acrylics or tempera) as these are not made to be applied to skin and often contain chemicals that can be harmful.

  7. What designs do you offer?

I will provide samples and ideas for your guests to look at. Often, your guests will already know what they would like to have painted and if not, the samples will help to spur their imagination. Custom designs are offered for "Theme" events at no extra charge. Please call in advance of your date to discuss design ideas for your theme.

  8. How far will you travel?

I will travel any reasonable distance. Fuel and any other travel fees will be added for trips more than 30 miles from Middle River, Maryland.

  9. Do you require a deposit?

Yes. Paying a deposit will secure the date you book. Without a deposit, we can not secure your date and time.

  10. What type of payments do you accept?

Cash and all major credit cards are accepted. Checks should be sent at least 10 business days prior to your event,to allow sufficient time for it to process through the bank. You may also pay with PayPal on this website. *Please Note that the total amount must be paid in full on or before your event date.

  11. Where will you work and do I need to provide anything?

I will need a place to set up my supplies. If your event is outdoors, please provide me with an area to work that is NOT in direct sunlight or other weather elements. Corners or places out of the main party area make good locations. I may need access to a nearby water supply in order to rinse my brushes and refill containers. I will also need a small table (card table size or larger) and 2 chairs of the same height. If you do not have a table and chairs available for me to use, please let me know so that I can bring mine along. The reason I don't automatically bring them to every event is because you may not have the room in your party area for them. *I will bring my own table and chairs to all corporate and larger events.
